Easy-easy like Sunday morning

Unless I travel for work, I tend to leave all glamour behind, far far away, in Never Never Land.

Anyway, God only knows how much of a low key girl I am. 

Make no mistake, vacation means comfort and relaxation to me.
As you already know, I pack light and carry on-because there's no reason to buy/keep things I'm not going to wear.

I just need one piece that will work with everything, a piece that transitions easily from day to night. 

That's why I was so excited when I found probably the tiniest-cutest-coolest store in Viejo San Juan, 

Con Calma. 

They have a great assortment of bags, with fabrics and patterns I've ever seen before in Puerto Rico. 

Funny enough, because God works  in mysterious ways, they were made 100% in the island.

Who knew?

Not only that, the philosophy behind these bags is an environmentally responsible design, that supports local industry. In any other place this is a piece of cake, but when it comes to Puerto Rico, I must say this is a titanic effort--reason why I admire with every single beat of my heart Con Calma's mastermind, Mathilsha Marxuach, and the women from the mountains behind these beauties.

If you're ever in Puerto Rico, this store and of course, mallorcas from La Bombonera are a must.

Yo quiero Macaron!

I'm at Montreal at the moment. People speak French. This is the Paris of North America.

Why I haven't seen a single macaron spot around then? Yo quiero macaron!

Sorry, I'm just obsessed with macarons. I think of Pierre Hermé and problems just disappear.

I would love to learn how to make them so I could just stack 'em up but the kitchen and I aren't very good friends and it takes a lot of patience to create the perfect biscuit. The ganache is another story...

But hey, it's ok, since these babies are impossible to find over here, I just lost 5 imaginary pounds!

U R So Charming!

I love delicate, timeless, unique, gold charms. When I was a little girl I had a Carrie Bradshaw kind of gold charm but instead of course, it had Jeniffer, yes-with a double FF and just one N. It was my father's mistake when I was born, and I was mortified by the misspell for many years, but now I see it as my trademark.

Back in the day the charm was not a fashion statement, it was just a mandatory accessory among Puerto Ricans.

Anyways, the thing is that for Christmas, I received a precious gold necklace with my initial as a present.

(I was very lucky. This past year, I got my LV Speedy Bag too!)

It was love at first sight. People ask me all the time me where to get it. 

Well, I must confess I really don't know! But I think the Helen Ficalora ones would look just as pretty!

@ The Raleigh la vida es más sabrosa

I'm not a mega hotel kind of gal. I never was, I'll never be.

Because I travel a lot, sometimes I feel really lonely, so I enjoy and appreciate when
people call me by my name because they already know me, not because they look at the computer.

That little thing is a HUGE thing when you spend so much time away from home.

I always look after really cozy, charming, small, boutique hotels.

In Mexico, I usually stay at La Condesa. In Río, Fasano it is.

In Buenos Aires I recently discovered Casa Sur. That one was was not as good as Home, the best boutique hotel in Buenos Aires, but it worked out because of it's location in La Recoleta.

In Miami, my first option would be Keyla Medina's house, meaning, my best friend's couch or if I'm lucky, and I'm able to choose, I prefer The Raleigh.

This is a non pretentious, effortless style place and it really gets me. I feel Truman Capote can come in at any given moment. The beds are comfy, most of the staff speaks Spanish, the pool is a true oasis, it is steps away from the beach, they rent vintage bikes and it's Royal Restaurant is yummy for my tummy.

I never got to try the famous lemon ricotta pancakes, so I guess I'll have to come back!
